This tree is an advanced specimen of a classic bonsai species. Its broad finger-like root structure (known as 'nebari' in japanese) is accentuated by the strong bright green of the moss underneath. Trident maples have the smallest leaves of the maple species, making them highly sought after. Many years of careful pruning have created a well structured canopy. In autumn the leaves turn orange and yellow creating a spectacular display.
